An offbeat romantic comedy about a woman who doesn't believe true love exists, and the young man who falls for her. This film could be pretty much summed up in one of the first lines of the film, where the narrator warns us ... This is a story of boy meets girl. But you should know up front, this is not a love story.Joseph Gordon-Levit and Zooey Deschanel are the leads and each bring a certain quirkiness and sensitivity to their roles as Tom and Summer.
The story is not in direct order as it goes back and forth from different days Tom remembers his life and relationship with Summer. We get the fun of memory blender - flashbacks like Day 488, Day 2, Day 159 etc. That is how most of us remember anyway: non-linear.
When the show ended, I was still quite lost with this 2 parts of the show which I really couldn't comprehend:
Summer: We've been like Sid and Nancy for months now.
Tom: Summer, Sid stabbed Nancy, seven times with a kitchen knife, I mean we have some disagreements but I hardly think I'm Sid Vicious.
Summer: No I'm Sid.
Tom: Oh, so I'm Nancy...
[Pancakes arrive]
Summer: Let's just eat and we'll talk about it later. Mmm, that is good, I'm really glad we did this. I love these pancakes... what?
[Tom gets up and walks away from the table]
Summer: Tom, don't go! You're still my best friend!
I googled it and finally found my answer. It was an Alex Cox film about the ill fated Sid Vicious & his honey Nancy Spungen released back in 1986!
The other was:
Summer: I named my cat after Springsteen.
Tom: Cool... what was his name?
Summer: Bruce.
I googled as well, and Bruce Springsteen was a person! >> Bruce Springsteen an American singer-songwriter.
What I really like about the film is that it is different, yet very realistic. And remember, there is always another season ... maybe Autumn? =P

Day Trip to JB with Hubby's Mum and his Step-siblings. =)
They have A&W in JB!!!
This was the combo we ordered + an extra Waffle with Ice-Cream for me!
This is the 2nd AEON I've went in JB, first was the one at Tebrau City [nearer to Woodlands Causeway], now is the newer and lousier one at Bukit Indah [nearer to 2nd Link].
All of us went separate way, his mum and sis went to the JUSCO Supermarket, his bro went walk around on his own, while Hubby and me went for a 2nd round of food, coz Hubby wasn't full when we ate A&W earlier on.

Once again, I bought NOTHING! Spent all on food. And bought only mooncakes back.

Went to Molly Malone's Irish Pub for dinner and all of us ordered their "famous" Fish & Chips, it isn't that great afterall. Quite lousy actually.

Were deciding where to adjorn to for our after dinner session - Settlers Cafe or Timbre.
Ben called to say there is seats but need to walk over, can't make reservation. Hence we begin our walk across the river. But as the weather was super hot, we ended up an IndoChine instead. At least it's air-conditioned, no need to endure the hot and humid weather, and we can even view the F1 race! =D
Nice place though. And pretty nice service too. =)
